Fire Safety – Keeping you Safe in Your Home

The Association is promoting Fire Safety to all its tenants and owner-occupiers to keep you and your family safe from the risk of fire in your home.

We have engaged with Scottish Fire & Rescue to develop the Fire Safety Booklet and pages 6 and 7 provide details on how you can arrange a Fire Safety visit.

We would also ask you to consider taking out insurance to safeguard your furniture and belongings in the event of a fire in your home.  The Association promotes the Thistle Tenants Risk Insurance, which is noted on page 8 of the booklet.  Tenants can request a Home Insurance Pack by contacting the Association’s office.

The Association’s Director, Kenny Mollins said, “We are committed to keeping our tenants, owner-occupiers and their families safe in their home.  Fire can have a devasting impact on peoples’ lives and we have developed a Fire Safety booklet to provide advice and information on fire safety.  We would ask you to read the Fire Safety Booklet and consider its content and discuss with your family firstly, what you can do to prevent a fire in your home and secondly, how you can get out of your home in the event of a fire.   I would encourage you to contact the Association or Scottish Fire & Rescue if you need any advice or support on fire prevention or to keep you safe in the event of a fire.”
